Updates. So as you may know, we are waiting for a visa to move.
So long story short, our apartment lease ended on Tuesday, September 30th. My last day of work was Friday, September 26th. Since we are still waiting for my visa, this presents an opportunity.
Since Tuesday, we have been on a road trip killing time waiting for the text message from the Consulate. We have stayed at @Marriott properties in Maryland, Pennsylvania, New York State, Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine.
This reminds me of my father's immigration story. Marciano Espirito Santos Da Graca was born in Cabo Verde in 1938 and immigrated to the U.S. on 3 May 1959. He, along with his step mother, and four youngest siblings sailed on a cruise ship from Cabo Verde to Portugal and were in Portugal for about 3 month waiting for his visa, so I guess this is in my genes.
I hope to send two updates a week, Tuesday and Friday.
Question, can you identify the city where this photo was taken?
Yes, Albany, NY. RCA mascot ontop of the building. I still own an RCA VCR. I think!
I also, used Google AI. Thanks for sharing your story! Your father's story is awesome and very inspirational as well as yours.
Albany, New York, The Nipper Statue...yes, I used Google only because I knew it was Northeast, but didn't know if it was a New England town or New York. The old mill like buildings kinda gave a clue.
